My own transit conversionNEW by: Ana
I also have a transit connect it is 2015 I had a bed custom-made for it and use the IKEA toddler frame for its base, that way I can use under bed for water storage or cooking necessities. I took the sterlite 3 drawer storage without wheels unit for my clothing.. it’s great and cheaper than an rv!!!

Sole woman traveller 😊 by: Bobbi
Hi, finally someone writing about doing it by themselves 😊 I’m a 52 year old woman who bought a 2007 Ford Transit Van! I’m starting from scratch building my home on wheels. So far I have payed the floor and drawn my plans. Every little idea is amazing. I’ll be running 2 solar panels on my roof with 2 batteries separately, one for the sole purpose of running my fridge/freezer and the other for the inverter to run fans, tv, iPad and the rest. Now the seat that is a porta potty is such a major that I’ll be working out where to add it!
If anyone has any ideas or photos of ideas , I’m all eyes and ears 😊 can’t wait to hear from you all ❣️Bobbi

DetailsNEW by: Kay
Hi, The blue cube is an inexpensive ottoman that I took the bottom out of. It fits perfectly over the little portable potty.
Recently, I had a 6 inch fan cut into the back corner of the roof. It really helps to pull the hot air out. I also have window screens that fit over the front doors, and the fan helps the air flow. The fan does not stick up anymore than the back light, so the van still fits easily in the garage.
I would be happy to answer any other questions you may have!

What’s in the blue cube?NEW by: FB
I do I’m in my 70s with a minivan camper and am always seeking other women’s solutions to the inevitable night time potty use. What do you use? More pictures or a detailed description of your set up would be appreciated.

I camperized my 2011 TC van too - am in my 70's nowNEW by: Barb
I'm sorry I only gave you 4 stars. Your van looks so colourful but I would have liked to have seen more detail. I camperized my 2011 Transit Connect too but I made it all removable. It can remove the bed & storage below in 1/2 hr to make it multi-functional or it can return to it's original state in about 45 min. I use a electronic cooler (12V plug in), a portable 1 burner dual fuel stove and my mini version of a porta-pottie. I did not convert to propane, running water hookups etc b/c they take up too much room although I would like to put in a solar panel & battery to run the cooler but I have to keep my exterior roof clearance the same so I can get into the parking garage.

Bike by: Kay
I am the owner of this van. Just wanted to point out why I designed it this way. I love biking rail-trails and my bike fits perfectly down the center aisle. I use twist ties to hold a bike stand down to the floor and other front and back ties to keep the upright bike secure while traveling. The bike is easily taken out when I stop and at night, I pull the supports out and a shelf from the seat, put cushions down and have a comfortable wide bed. I thought about going solar, but found that electricity was easier for cooking, using a cube heater, plugging in my bike battery, ipad, and other things.

Van Conversions by: Gail
I'm still trying to decide what would work for me.
A woman travelling alone is comfortable as long as there are other people alone. I have not been comfortable in a remote campsite.

Retiring Soon by: Adrienne
This is exactly what I want to do in the next year when I retire. Do you have electric-lights, fan, heat? I have been looking at solar power and may go that route. Is your sink hooked up to water tanks? Do you ever get nervous traveling alone?

Can I contact you? by: Gail
Hi
I'm also a woman in my 70s who is interested in converting a Ford Transit. Have you thought about
making it so you could stand up?
As a longtime VW camper enthusiast we wanted to create a modern equivalent. It needed to be a rig that was as comfortable on the daily commute as it is
